Don't Miss The Train

photography by roz alcazar

Seasons shifting, like trains bound for new destinations.
Reflective mode: on.
Darker outfits: in.

What can I say — it’s been a lot lately. Mentally, I’ve been struggling. And that’s a hard pill to swallow for someone like me, who just goes. The train never stops. Until it does.

What happens when you get stuck? When the pieces of machinery jam, and no matter how much you push, nothing moves? Something has to give, surely. A screw, a spark, a breath, before it all starts again.

Summer was so glorious. I recovered from a big injury, travelled, reconnected with friends across the globe: Portugal, Spain, the US. A whirlwind of love and friendships. People came, we celebrated love, we danced. There was light everywhere.

And then, as always, life tilted. The air cooled. The pace changed. The colour palette shifted from coral to ochres, from ivory to coffee. Autumn arrived, and with it — a quiet kind of blue.

I’ve felt slower. Softer. A little lost, maybe? But there’s something about this season that reminds you: stillness isn’t failure, it’s a pause. The train doesn’t disappear; it just stops at the station to refuel.

So I’m wearing the blue — literally and metaphorically.
Making it brighter. Adding shine. Ditching the bad vibes and putting on the Matrix look — sunglasses, big energy jacket, power stance. If I can’t fix everything right now, I can at least dress like I’m on a journey of truth.

Don’t miss the train — that’s my reminder to myself. To stay alive to it all. To discover. To slow down. To reflect. To remember that it’s okay to pause, to breathe, to wear black and feel golden underneath.

We’re here to stay. Autumn is here to remind us!
